WhyBuyGames is using the internet to tackle the problem of the ever increasing prices of games by developing a new online games rental service to Wales and the rest of the UK.

WhyBuyGames, is a new online service set up by 3 local entrepreneurs from North Wales.   The website that allows gamers to subscribe to a games rental service for a small monthly subscription fee was launched just 12 months ago.  Since this time the service has grown from strength to strength, even boasting celebrities amongst its customer base.

Once customers become members of WhyBuyGames, they can then choose from thousands of games and create a personalised games list. The website, found at www.whybuygames.com, also has some very neat features, including parental control options and the ability to move items up or down in their games lists.

“This online service will benefit all types of gamers. Most Welsh gamers have to travel some distance to buy new games, however with WhyBuyGames they can now rent games using the internet” Explains Paul Billington-Dykes, Technical Director of WhyBuyGames. He adds “In addition, families that have 2 or more children can’t always afford to buy the latest games for their kids, so this type of service is a perfect way to save money. We even give customers a free trial, so if they don’t like our service then they can cancel at any time.”

The service is aimed at anyone that owns a games console and caters for all major formats including PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the Nintendo WII.

“Game prices are likely to continue to increase”. Paul continues to explain “Why spend tens of pounds on buying the latest games when you can rent many games from as little as £9.49 a month. We have purposely kept prices as low as possible for gamers so postage is free and there are no late fees like at a rental store. You don’t even have to worry about how long you keep the game, just send it back when you’re finished then we send the next game from your list, it really is that simple.”

The new service is believed to be the first of its kind in Wales and is rapidly growing with ambitions to become the UK’s number one games rental service. With local Welsh celebrities such as ex-boy band member Andy Scott-Lee having subscribed to the rental service, the main goal of WhyBuyGames is to have a widely recognised brand amongst gamers with a reputation for excellent customer satisfaction.
